Porter Property Co. ("Porter," "we," "us") operates the Porter mobile application and the website at myporterapp.com. Porter is an AI-powered property management co-pilot for independent landlords. Our contact address is hello@myporterapp.com.
Waitlist and account registration. When you sign up on our website or create an account in the app, we collect your name and email address. Landlords also provide a password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your plaintext password).
Property and lease information. Landlords provide property addresses, unit details, and lease terms (rent amount, start/end dates). This information is stored to operate the service and is visible only to the landlord and, where relevant, the associated tenant.
Tenant information. Landlords enter their tenants' names, email addresses, and phone numbers to connect them to the platform. Tenants receive an invitation to create their own account and may update their profile.
Payment information. Rent payments are processed via ACH bank transfer through Stripe. We collect bank account details sufficient to initiate transfers. We do not store full account numbers on our servers — Stripe handles PCI-compliant storage. Landlords connect a bank account to receive rent deposits via Stripe Connect.
Maintenance and communication data. Tenant messages, maintenance requests, contractor job records, and AI-generated triage summaries are stored to operate the service and provide landlords with a complete audit trail.
Device and usage data. We collect device identifiers (for push notifications), app version, and anonymized usage events to improve the product and diagnose errors. Error reports are processed by Sentry.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use tenant or landlord data to train AI models beyond the session in which it is processed.

We retain account and property data for the duration of your active subscription plus 90 days after cancellation, to allow for account recovery. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@myporterapp.com. Payment records required for legal compliance will be retained in anonymized form.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to request a portable copy of the data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@myporterapp.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never touches our servers in plaintext. We conduct regular security reviews and use rate limiting on all public endpoints.
Porter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify active users of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
